When Treatment Cannot Be Performed?? Situations Where Salon May Refuse Lash Extensions and Lash Lift
Contradictions to Eyelash Extensions
There are certain situations in which the lashes treatment cannot be performed and the salon will have to refuse to do the treatment.
- Recent eye/nose surgery or permanent makeup in the eye area
- Any contagious skin conditions on or around the eyes or eyelids
- Undiagnosed lumps
- Stye
- Recent eye/nose surgery or permanent makeup in the eye area.
- Eyes are swollen, red, itchy, or have any other signs of abnormal condition
- Glaucoma
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Hay fever
- Reaction to patch test (which should be performed at least 24 hours prior to treatment. If eyes get swollen, puffy, watery, or red it may indicate glue reaction)
- Hypersensitive skin
- Diseases such as: madarosis (lack of eyelashes), blepharitis, distichiasis, trichiasis, trichotillomania, alopecia (treatment cannot be done as client’s lashes are not suitable for lashing, or there are no or not enough lashes to have them extended).
